Supporting Social and Emotional Growth in Toddler Daycare

Pink Tower’s Toddler Daycare program cares for children from ages 19 to 36 months during important social-emotional development stage. Our program follows toddlers as they begin to seek out independence, providing nurturing guidance to encourage exploration, helping children to safely navigate their changing world. For toddlers who are ready, we also offer potty training, collaborating closely with parents to encourage consistent behavior. Our staff is well versed in making potty training a pleasant experience.

Language and Fine Motor Skill Development

Language acquisition is one of the main focuses for us. Toddlers are naturally curious and want to communicate so we stimulate this through conversation, storytime and interactive experiences that expand their vocabulary. This routine supports early literacy, as just listening to stories and identifying pictures in books builds the foundation for later reading skills, such as phonics and comprehension. Alongside language development, fine motor is a key area of focus. From drawing, stacking blocks to playing with puzzles, toddlers are practicing their coordination and dexterity. We also encourage self-help skills like feeding themselves, washing their hands and dressing. Little big milestones like that help grow confidence and autonomy.

Play-Based Learning and Positive Discipline

We believe in learning by doing, so toddlers spend their time engaging in different kinds of dramatic play. Pretend play — be it cooking, taking care of dolls or exploring a mini jungle — promotes creativity and cognitive development. Problem-solving games and activities which promote critical thinking and decision-making are other means through which cognitive exploration is promoted. An essential element of our program is positive discipline, teaching toddlers about acceptable behavior in a gentle, supportive manner. We encourage emotional regulation and help them learn how to play with their peers, which helps with social-emotional development.”
